AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has extended the registration dates for CMAT
(Common Management Admission Test) 2013-14 from September 2 to September 7, 2012.
With this more students can apply for the exam now. The decision was taken by AICTE as
more states are gradually joining the CMAT exam. Recently Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh
decided to accept the CMAT scores for providing admission to MBA programs. Rajasthan and Maharashtra had
already agreed to accept the exam in 2011. AICTE is persuading other states too to switch over to CMAT.
Mumbai: Registration for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012 is now extended till 07th Sep. CMAT is
the ONLY test for admission in MBA Programmes in AICTE approved institutions and University Departments of all
the states, and one of the five tests for PGDM programmes for 2013-14.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in its mission to reduce the burden of students in attending to
multiple examinations launches the first national level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012 for
facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programs approved by AICTE. The
initiative has been taken to address the issue of physical, mental and financial stress being imposed on the students
through number of entrance examinations being followed by the institutions for admission into all Management
Programmes in AICTE approved institutions based on the relevant judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Scores
awarded will be used for admission in the post graduate management programs both at Degree & Diploma level at
national level.
Gujarat & other state Governments have decided that only CMAT scores will be considered for admission in
post graduate MBA/MCA management programs in all AICTE approved MBA/MCA institutions and State universities
in Gujarat State from the academic year 2013-14 onwards and those students, who would be pursuing MBA/MCA
admissions in AICTE approved institutions and State universities in Gujarat State, shall have to be registered for CMAT
-2013-14, for which the registration is now open. Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) Cell has been
constituted by AICTE to coordinate all activities related to conduct of first national level test for admission in to all
management programmes in AICTE approved institutions.
