Department of Paramedical Sciences offers the following university approved new programs;
1. BSc. Optometry (BOPT)
2. BSc. Medical Imaging Technology (BMIT)
3. BSc. Operation Theater Techniques (BOTT)
4. BSc. Medical Record & Health Information Management (BMR & HIM)
5. BSc. In Cardiology Lab Techniques ( BCLT)
6. BSc. Dialysis Techniques (BDT)
BSc. Optometry (BOPT) : Optometry is an independent profession in eye care. It’s practice includes a complete examination of the
visual system and estimation of errors. It also covers the manufacturing, supply and fitting of spectacles, contact lenses and other
optical aids. On successful completion of the course Optometrists will be primary health care professionals, institutionally educated
and clinically trained in the science of optometry. Employment opportunities are also open in various multinational companies in their
divisions such as Marketing, R&D etc. They will even be able to teach at a school/college of optometry, pursue higher education or
take up further research in the ophthalmic field.
BSc. Medical Imaging Technology (BMIT) : Radiology technologists are a vital part of health care system, and their services are in
demand in a variety of medical settings. Radiology technicians also specialize in a number of areas under the umbrella of diagnostic
imaging. They perform diagnostic imaging examinations like X-Rays, CT, MR, PET, Mammography, & Nuclear Medicine.
BSc. Operation Theater Techniques (BOTT) : An operating Room (OR) Assistant provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, closure, and
other intra-operative technical factions that help the surgeon to carry out a safe operation for the patient. In addition to intra-operative
duties, the OR assistant also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate proper patient. Care.
Medical Record & Health Information Management (BMR&HIM) : To become proficient in maintaining medical record at par with
the current standards, to have and understanding of the legal aspect of record, to develop the expertise in hospital compliance and
patient care and their application in the administration of Medical Record Department. To promote an appreciation of the ethics
principles underlying medical practice in general and the code ethics of medical record professional in particular.
BSc. In Cardiology Lab Techniques (BCLT) : This Bachelor in Cardiology Laboratory Technique course gives an opportunity to acquire
a Bachelor degree where they learn all about ECG, TMT. Echocardiography, Holter monitoring, Cath. Laboratory procedures etc. On
completion of the course the candidate will be completely knowledgeable about cardiology techniques and will be skillful in
management of the patient, trouble shooting of machines and in effecting organizing and running of the cardiology laboratory.
BSc. Dialysis Techniques (BDT) : The aim of the course is to impact basic medical knowledge, patient care, dialysis machines and
dialysis process. On completion of the course the candidate will have complete knowledge about dialysis and will be able to manage
patient, trouble shooting of machine and organize and manage the dialysis unit with skill.
Duration : Three years
Total Seats : 25 in each course (Inclusive of seats reserved for NRIs. Additional seats are available for foreign nationals)
Fee structure : Rs. 55,000/- annually

Eligibility :
** Passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/
Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination
recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto and secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate of these subjects.
** Should have appeared in the written test conducted by Jamia Hamdard.
** Those candidates who have already applied for MBBS course and would like to opt for these courses need not apply again or pay
any application fee, but only need to fill up the consent form available from Department of Paramedical Sciences and website of Jamia
Hamdard
